In honor of Presley Raye Emick
After 4 months in the NICU with baby Presley, I finally decided I would take some time for myself. It was hard, really hard...I never wanted to leave her side. But since I hadn't had my hair done in 8 months, I figured it was time. I went to a salon and spent 4 hours getting pampered. I truly enjoyed my ME time! A definite change to my everyday yoga outfits (pretty much PJs...) and zero time spent on my hair or make-up. I felt refreshed when I returned to the hospital that evening. I had finally felt pretty again, I even took a hair selfie! Just a couple weeks later our baby passed away. During my initial grieving period, I had serval conversations with God looking for guidance. About a month after Presley’s passing, God laid a big mission on my heart. I heard loud and clear that I needed to make NICU mamas feel beautiful and special! I had no idea where to start, but I knew I needed to. I started sharing my "NICU Project" with some friends, everyone loved the idea and wanted help! Ansley's Salon has so generously offered me a place to pamper NICU families! We have Massage Therapists, Nail Techs, an Esthetician, and a Hairstylist all ready to donate their time! We offer NICU parents the services of their choice at no cost to them! They can come to the salon and have a day of stress-free pampering with any hair service, a facial, massage, manicure, pedicure, or combo of a couple services! How you can help; We are asking for monetary donations to help cover costs of professional salon & spa supplies for the services we provide free to the families, and to help with website & marketing costs. Every single penny donated will go to an expense involved with Presley's Purpose ~ a NICU Project. Other ways to help are by purchasing clothing from Presley’s boutique, as a portion of the profits go to our NICU Project. Or share this mission and donation link with others. We will certainly be able to show where donations are being spent, if a donator would like that info. We so dearly appreciate all your help! I feel blessed to be a part of this project! I love helping families in one of the most challenging times of their lives get a sense of refresh. Being able to connect and give-back to these very special parents is just one way I am able to honor our angel Presley! Another foundation we love and support
About the Alessia Rose Foundation
While in the NICU we became close friends with the Bianca family. Alessia Rose was born at 1lb. 5oz and 11.5 inches long, just shy of 25 weeks gestation. After her 140 day fight, she passed away suddenly. Alessia's parents have started a foundation in her honor. We love their mission and would like to share it with you. Alessia Rose Foundation; "Our goal is simple: In honor of our daughter, Alessia Rose, we aim to create awareness, support solutions and care, and ultimately reduce/eliminate the risks that are associated with extreme prematurity."
